Objective and Purpose:
The primary objective of this Scheme is to honor the bravery and sacrifice of all those soldiers who participated in the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971. Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be eligible for this scheme the following conditions are to be met:
(1) Participation in the Wars: The soldier must have actively participated in the 1965 or 1971 Indo-Pak wars.
(2) Award Recipients: The soldier who have been awarded medals like Samar Seva Star, Eastern Star, or Western Star for their bravery and service during these wars.
(3) Service Personnel: The scheme covers Regular Commissioned Officers, Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR), Civilian Short Service Commission Officers (SSCOs), and Emergency Commission Officers (ECOs).
(4) Family Eligibility: In the unfortunate event of the soldier’s death, their spouse or immediate family members are eligible to receive the financial assistance.
(5) The soldier should not be in receipt of any form of Govt pension.
Financial Assistance and Benefits:
Under the Yudh Samman Yojana, the soldiers or their families will receive one time financial assistance of Rs. 15 lakh. The amount will be directly transfers to the bank accounts of beneficiary. The scheme also provides a monthly ₹30,000 to support the financial needs of these war veterans or their families.
