NEET UG 2024 Counselling
The choice filling in NEET UG 2024 Counselling Process will start from 16th August and will end on 20th August 2024. Candidates are required to select their preferred Colleges and universities in this process. There are total 3 rounds of counselling followed by one stray vacancy round if the seats are empty. The seat allocation is based on the rank of candidates in NEET 2024.
All the candidates who are qualified in the NEET UG 2024 Examination are requested to register on the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) official website at mcc.nic.in so they can participate in the seat allocation process.
Who is Eligible for NEET Counselling 2024?
(1) NEET 2024 Qualification:
- NEET Score: Candidates must qualify for the NEET 2024 examination by securing the minimum required percentile.
- General Category: Minimum 50th percentile.
- OBC/SC/ST/PWBD Category: Minimum 40th percentile.
- General-PwD Category: Minimum 45th percentile.
(2) Educational Qualifications:
- Candidates must have passed the 12th grade.
- General Category: At least 50% in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.
- OBC/SC/ST Category: At least 40% in aggregate in the above subjects.
- PwD Category: At least 45% in aggregate in the above subjects.
(3) Age Limit:
- The age of candidate must be at least 17 years old.
(4) Nationality:
- Indian Nationals: All Indian citizens are eligible for NEET counselling.
- NRI/OCI/PIO: Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) are also eligible for NEET counselling.
- Foreign Nationals: Some medical institutions may admit foreign nationals, but they must check specific eligibility criteria and may need to qualify NEET as well.
(5) Domicile Requirements:
- State Quota: For admission under the 85% state quota seats, candidates must fulfil the domicile criteria of the respective state.
- All India Quota (AIQ): All candidates, regardless of their domicile, are eligible for 15% of the All India Quota seats, except in Jammu & Kashmir unless they opt for AIQ during the NEET application process.
Deemed Universities/Private Colleges: Candidates may have to meet additional criteria set by deemed universities or private colleges if they are applying to these institutions.
How to register for Round 1 of NEET-UG counselling?
(1) Visit the official website of Medical Counselling Committee at https://mcc.nic.in for All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling or For State Quota counselling: Visit the official website of the respective state counselling authority.
(2) Find the link for NEET-UG counselling new and click on it.
(3) Enter your credentials like NEET-UG 2024 roll number, application number, candidate name, date of birth, and security pin as per the NEET-UG scorecard. and login
(4) Fill out the counselling form with correct details.
(5) Upload the required documents if necessary.
(6) Select the preferred Colleges and universities for round one.
(7) Ensure the details are correct, review and submit the form.
Registration Fees:
The registration fees for the NEET UG is of two types. You have to pay the non-refundable fees as well as a refundable fees which is a security deposit. Both fees can be paid online using debit card, credit card or net banking. The fees for different categories is given below:
(1) For AIQ/Deemed Universities:
- General Category: ₹1,000 (non-refundable) + ₹10,000 (refundable security deposit)
- SC/ST/OBC/PwD Category: ₹500 (non-refundable) + ₹5,000 (refundable security deposit)
(2) For Central Universities/AFMS:
- General Category: ₹1,000 (non-refundable) + ₹10,000 (refundable security deposit)
- SC/ST/OBC/PwD Category: ₹500 (non-refundable) + ₹5,000 (refundable security deposit)
(3) For Deemed Universities:
- All Categories: ₹5,000 (non-refundable) + ₹2,00,000 (refundable security deposit)
*Once the payment is successful, a confirmation message will be displayed.

The first counselling process is supposed to fill up the 15% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats, along with allocations in central and deemed universities, private colleges, Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) institutes, AIIMS, and JIPMER. The rest 85% AIQ seats are reserved for the respective state quota.
