Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2024 : The counselling process for NEET 2024 started after the NEET Exam results for the year 2024 were out. The Maharashtra NEET counselling will be held by  Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra. This will be for the academic year 2024-2025. The Maharashtra NEET counselling is conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and other allied medical and paramedical courses. There will be around five to six steps such as the declaration of merit list, seat matrix, registration, participation in counselling and declaration of seat-allotment result, followed by institute reporting and document verification.

Maharashtra NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Maharashtra NEET UG 2024 counselling, candidates must meet the following criteria:

(1) Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

(2) Domicile: Candidates must have a domicile certificate of Maharashtra to be eligible for state quota.

(3) Other State Students: candidates from other states can also apply but will be considered under the institutional quota or open category seats.

(4) Educational Qualification:

  • The candidate must have passed their 10th and 12th grade from a recognized institution in Maharashtra
  • They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as main subjects in 12th grade.
  • The minimum required marks in the 12th grade are 50% for general category candidates, 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates, and 45% for general category candidates with physical disabilities.

(5) NEET Qualifications: The candidate must have qualified the NEET UG 2024 exam with the minimum required percentile:

  • General category: 50th percentile
  • SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile
  • Persons with Disability (PWD) in the general category: 45th percentile.

(6) Age: The age of candidates must be at least 17 years old.

How to Register for Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2024?

(1) Visit the official website of Maharashtra CET Cell

(2) Click on the “NEET UG 2024” section and Select the “New Registration” option.

(3) Enter your NEET 2024 roll number, application number, date of birth, and other necessary details.

(4) Verify your mobile number and email ID using OTP.

(5) Create a user ID and password for your counselling account.

(6) Complete the application form by entering your personal details, academic qualifications, and NEET 2024 score etc.

(7) Upload the required documents such as NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, domicile certificate, category certificate (if applicable), and others.

(8) Pay the required registration fee online using a debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.

(9) Review all the information and submit the application form.

(10) Download and print the form for future reference.

what documents are required for Maharashtra NEET Counselling 2024?

(1) The hall ticket issued for the NEET exam.

(2) NEET 2024 Scorecard or the result or rank letter showing your NEET 2024 score and rank.

(3) Class 10th Mark Sheet and Certificate as proof of date of birth and academic qualification.

(4) Class 12th Mark Sheet and Certificate required for academic qualification verification.

(5) Domicile Certificate to prove residency in Maharashtra for state quota seats.

(6) Nationality Certificate/Passport/Birth Certificate to confirm Indian nationality.

(7) Caste Certificate (if applicable) for candidates applying under SC/ST/OBC categories.

(8) Caste Validity Certificate required for category verification if applying under reserved categories.

(9) Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for OBC candidates) should be valid for the current financial year.

(10) Aadhar Card: For identity verification.

(11) Medical Fitness Certificate: From a registered medical practitioner.

(12) Income Certificate If applying for any fee waiver schemes or scholarships.

(13) EWS Certificate (if applicable) for candidates claiming the Economically Weaker Section quota.

(14) Gap Certificate (if applicable) If there is a gap in education after 12th grade.

(15) PWD Certificate (if applicable) for candidates with disabilities.

Counselling Process Explained:

Understand the rounds NEET counselling involves four or more rounds. It depends on the seat left after each round.

Round 1:

(1) You have to fill your preferences in this round. Pick out your best top choices for colleges.

(2) If you like your allocated seat then you can join the college or If you want a better option then don’t submit the status retention form.

(3) If you’re satisfied with your allocated college in this round, you must submit the Status Retention Form to confirm(3)

Round 2:

(1) If you don’t join the college in Round 1, you can still participate in Round 2.

(2) The seats available in this round Includes seats not filled in Round 1 and those vacated after Round 1.

– Missed Round 1
– Participated but didn’t secure a seat
– Provided incorrect information and had their seats cancelled
– Joined a college in Round 1 but didn’t submit the Status Retention Form(3)

(4) You need to submit fresh college choices.

(5) If you don’t join in Round 2, you can participate in Round 3 after re-registering.

Round 3:

(1) Seats left in Round 1 and Round 2 are filled in this round.

(2) Everything else is same as round two.

Stray Round:

(1) For this round Only for candidates who haven’t secured a seat in the previous rounds can participate

(2) You need to submit choices again for these rounds.
