The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is a central agency in India responsible for investigation and prosecution of crimes affecting the national security. It was established in the year 2009 under the National Investigation Agency Act, the NIA was formed in response to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks to handle terrorism-related cases more effectively and ensure national security. NIA is headquartered in New Delhi. Their responsibilities include handling problems like terrorism, counterfeit currency, organized crime, and cybercrime.

NIA recently has announced the recruitment notification for various posts.
Vacancies and Positions
(1) Ministerial Staff: NIA is recruiting for 40 positions, including 24 Stenographer Grade I, 7 Assistants, and 9 Upper Division Clerks.
(2) Inspector, Sub Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector, and Head Constable: There are 119 vacancies for these roles, which are to be filled on a deputation basis
Educational Qualifications & Experience Post-wise
(1) Stenographer Grade I: Bachelor’s degree from recognized university and Candidates must have proficiency in stenography with a minimum speed of 100 words per minute in English.
(2) Assistant: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Candidates should have relevant experience in administration and the ability to handle computer software applications
(3) Upper Division Clerk (UDC): Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Experience in clerical work, including knowledge of office procedures and practices
(4) Inspector: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Experience in investigation of criminal cases, intelligence work, or operation and handling of prosecution
(5) Sub Inspector: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Two years of experience in handling cases related to law enforcement, intelligence, or investigation
(6) Assistant Sub-Inspector: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Experience in field investigations or intelligence work is preferred.
(7) Head Constable: Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board. Basic training in handling and maintaining equipment used in field operations

Salary and Benefits
(1) Salary: The salary ranges according to the position, with Inspectors earning between ₹44,900 and ₹1,42,400, Sub Inspectors between ₹35,400 and ₹1,12,400, Assistant Sub-Inspectors between ₹29,200 and ₹92,300, and Head Constables between ₹25,500 and ₹81,100
(2) Allowances: Employees are also entitled to various allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and more
